40GHz RFoF LN High SFDR Transmitters & Receivers

RFOptic’s 40GHz HSFDR RF over Fiber low Noise Figure, High Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) Transmitters & Receivers operate over an exceptionally wide bandwidth between 1GHz – 40GHz. These RFoF links are typically used for EW, Satcom, Radio telescopes, antenna remoting and for point-to-point backhaul telecommunication. A common application of the 40GHz HSFDR RFoF links is in Optical Delay Lines, where fiber is used to introduce a time delay for calibration of targeting systems or for delayed signal processing. A high SFDR is essential to transmit multiple signals with large amplitude differences as may arise between signals received of the main and from side lobes of an antenna or signals received from near and distant targets.

Options include a built-in pre-amplifier for the Tx module to improve the Noise Figure, which reduces the IP1dBc (Input power at 1dB gain compression), and/or a built-in post-amplifier in the Rx module to increase the gain of the link.

RFOptic’s HSFDR solutions may be configured into an indoor 1U Generic or 1U removable panel enclosure, which features hot swappable modules, and into several types of outdoor enclosures. Optimal selection of enclosures is made according to customer needs, available space, target environmental conditions, and maintenance parameters. Solutions utilizing RFoF HSFDR 40GHz links can be configured as bidirectional links and as multi-channel phase-matched sets. All solutions and applications can be monitored and controlled locally or remotely.

The High Spurious Free Dynamic Range series of RFoF Transmitters & Receivers operate at bandwidths from 0.1GHz – 12GHz, 0.1GHz – 18GHz, 0.1GHz – 20GHz, 1GHz – 30GHz, 1GHz – 40GHz, and 1GHz – 67GHz.
They are typically used for applications such as DF/ELINT systems where strong jammers concurrent with weak signals of interest are present. Scenarios include antenna testing, radar, and communications system testing. An HSFDR solution simplifies signal conditioning requirements for separating true signals from undesired spurious ones and noise.

Monitoring

RFOptic’s optical RF Monitor and Control software is designed to manage, monitor, and control RF over Fiber converters and RFoF systems locally or remotely.

These optical fiber control and monitor capabilities reduce the daily maintenance expense, allowing maintenance personnel to perform diagnostic tests and calibration in the field without special test equipment, and to locate faults and problems in the optical and RF domains.

All fiber optic management systems are user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to operate. Detailed information can be found in the help and manuals of the management software.

RFOptic’s Optical RF Monitor & Control is available using USB interface for local management and over Ethernet connection for remote management. Both M&C systems enable changes to operating parameters and provide status details for all RFOptic’s RFoF products.
