RFOptic’s Optical RF over Fiber Monitor & Control software

RFOptic’s proprietary optical RF Monitor and Control software is designed to manage, monitor, and control RFOptic’s RF over Fiber converters and systems locally or remotely.

These optical fiber control and monitor capabilities reduce the daily maintenance expense, allowing maintenance personnel to perform diagnostic tests and calibration in the field without special test equipment, and to locate faults and problems in the optical and RF domains.

All fiber optic management systems are user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to operate. Detailed information can be found in the help and manuals of the management software.

RFOptic’s Optical RF Monitor & Control is available using USB interface for local management and over Ethernet connection for remote management. Both M&C systems enable changes to operating parameters and provide status details for all RFOptic’s RFoF products.

Local Management

Short distance management is available over USB using RFOptic’s configuration tool under Microsoft Windows or a documented API. The software identifies the products by part and serial numbers, reports the optical power of both Tx and Rx units and module temperature. It simplifies parameter adjustments and built-in diagnostics as well as generating logfiles for technical support.

Remote Management

Remote management is available over Ethernet connection supporting SNMP V2c, HTML webserver, and REST protocols. Remote management over fiber uses an inter-Facility Optical Link (IFL) to provide M&C access to a remote RFoF enclosure from a nearby one.

ODL Local & Remote Management

RFOptic ODL systems may be controlled directly from the front panel with an LCD display and a 3-button navigation pad. Such systems can also be controlled using USB or Ethernet M&C interfaces as well as via documented API.
