12GHz RFoF LN High SFDR Transmitters & Receivers

RFOptic’s 12GHz RF over Fiber Low Noise, High Spurious Free Dynamic Range (SFDR) Transmitters & Receivers operate between 0.1GHz – 12GHz and are commonly used for applications in EW, Satcom, Radio telescopes, antenna remoting, various telco applications, and wherever high SFDR is essential due to large amplitude ratios that are typical between main and side lobes or between near and distant targets.

Options include a pre-amplifier to improve the Noise Figure where that is important and a post-amplifier for achieving unity gain. Both a pre and a post-amplifier where both Noise Figure and unity gain are important.

Low Noise, High SFDR RFoF transmission significantly simplifies signal conditioning requirements needed to avoid signal saturation and consequent follow-on effects such as power level adjustment.
RFOptic’s HSFDR solutions are housed in indoor enclosures (1U indoor Generic, 1U indoor, removable panel, and outdoor enclosures). The selection of enclosures is made according to available space and environmental conditions, maintenance parameters, and customer needs.

RFOptic’s High Spurious Free Dynamic Range (HSFDR) series of RFoF Transmitters & Receivers operate at bandwidths from 0.1GHz – 12GHz, 0.1GHz – 18GHz, 0.1GHz – 20GHz, 1GHz  30GHz, 1GHz – 40GHz, and 1GHz – 67GHz. High spurious free dynamic range units are especially useful in applications such as DF/ELINT systems that have to handle strong jammers concurrent with weak signals of interest, in antenna testing, radar, and in communications system testing. An HSFDR solution simplifies signal conditioning requirements that are required to separate true signals from unwanted spurious ones (spurious noise). Options for High SFDR RF over Fiber links include a pre-amplifier to improve the Noise Figure when that is important and a post-amplifier for achieving unity gain. Both pre- and post-amplifiers are available options when both Noise Figure and unity gain are important. However, since RFOptic’s 12, 18, 20, 30, 40, and 67 GHz HSFDR solutions provide high SFDR of minimum 111 dB/Hz, optional pre-and/or post-amplifiers may not be needed.

Monitoring

RFOptic’s optical RF Monitor and Control software is designed to manage, monitor, and control RF over Fiber converters and RFoF systems locally or remotely.

These optical fiber control and monitor capabilities reduce the daily maintenance expense, allowing maintenance personnel to perform diagnostic tests and calibration in the field without special test equipment, and to locate faults and problems in the optical and RF domains.

All fiber optic management systems are user-friendly, intuitive, and easy to operate. Detailed information can be found in the help and manuals of the management software.

RFOptic’s Optical RF Monitor & Control is available using USB interface for local management and over Ethernet connection for remote management. Both M&C systems enable changes to operating parameters and provide status details for all RFOptic’s RFoF products.
