RFOptic offers advanced RF over Fiber solutions for Satellite Communications (Satcom) primarily in the L and C bands. We also provide options in Ku and Ka bands, enhancing antenna maintenance and making it more cost-effective. Our end-to-end RF Satcom solutions are available for both outdoor and indoor applications, supporting frequencies of up to 40GHz for Ku and Ka satellite antennas.
RFOptic’s RF over Fiber links are widely utilized in the satellite industry to transmit satellite signals between antennas and Network Operations Centers (NOCs). These links operate efficiently in both uplink and downlink paths, particularly in L and C bands. Additionally, S-Band is employed for satellite telemetry, while 10 MHz Satcom timing and reference links ensure seamless connectivity to Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs), Low Noise Block converters (LNBs), and Block Up Converters (BUCs). Most of our solutions come with redundancy to ensure reliability.
As Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellites gain popularity, there is a growing demand for comprehensive solutions that integrate indoor and outdoor enclosures with multi-link capabilities. Features such as remote management, monitoring, and other ancillary services are increasingly essential.
In LEO satellite applications, RF over Fiber technology facilitates the establishment of high-elevation stationary ground stations, improves the quality of downlink data, and enhances overall connectivity within satellite constellations. With the rising demand for broadband communication, particularly from initiatives like Starlink and other emerging LEO satellite constellations—RoF technology is poised to play a crucial role in ensuring efficient and high-performance data transmission.
